Why We Love Zoysia Turf Grass http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2011/08/19/why-we-love-zoysia-turf-grass/ http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2011/08/19/why-we-love-zoysia-turf-grass/#comments Fri, 19 Aug 2011 13:52:59 +0000 LeAnne http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/?p=1242 [...]]]> Zoysia can take the heat.

Zoysia stays green through the thick of a southern summer.

Zoysia requires less maintenance.

Zoysia allows for less weeds.

Zoysia comes in thick blade (think “lush”) or thin blade (think “golf course”).

Zoysia looks like this…

Take a look at two recent landscape renovations using zoysia.

Would you know by looking that these photos were taken during the middle of a huge drought and 2+ months of 95+ degree temperatures?

SPRING: In Like A Lion? http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2011/03/21/spring-in-like-a-lion/ http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2011/03/21/spring-in-like-a-lion/#comments Mon, 21 Mar 2011 17:56:29 +0000 LeAnne http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/?p=1183 [...]]]>

Now that we’re all out of hibernation around here….ha!  Only Kidding.  It’s good to be back on the blog!

Mother Nature decided to bring in the busy season a little early.  And not only did she bring it early, she brought it like a lion.

Shouldn’t it be the other way around?  Out like a lion, in like a lamb?  Not that I’m complaining.  Around here, we LOVE to be busy!

But only because our schedule board seems to be filling up quicker than ever, I want to take a quick moment to remind our customers that NOW is the time to get on the calendar for mulch.  Last spring, the demand for mulch around Greenville skyrocketed, leaving most suppliers empty handed.  Fortunately, we keep a substantial amount on hand ourselves and we’d like to go ahead and reserve enough time to get the mulch to YOU.  Our contract customers will have first priority, so please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll add you to the schedule.  As always, we offer a dyed brown or black product as well as natural double-ground hardwood.  We can also special order other products per your request.  Pricing for installation or delivery is available.

On another note, we are THRILLED to be offering a new custom hardscape product.  Outdoor hardscape has always been one of our favorite lines of work: pergolas, fire pits, stone walls and walkways, water features, patios, etc.  Only now we are taking this work to an all new level!

We will be installing covered outdoor living areas as a complete package to include stone walls, rock fireplaces, metal roofing, rock columns, electrical wiring for lights/outdoor ceiling fans/televisions, stone/brick paver/gravel floors, your choice of lumber, plant features, trees, and more.

We are in the process of building one right now and I’ll be posting updates of our progress and also of the finished product.  Check out the beginning stages below:

Don’t you want one in your backyard?!?

Happy Spring Everyone!

We didn’t leave it like this, I promise!  Still more to come…

{The project is complete, I just don’t have the photos yet}

But I will say it looks great!

Homegrown Goodness http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2010/10/14/homegrown-goodness/ http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2010/10/14/homegrown-goodness/#comments Thu, 14 Oct 2010 20:20:13 +0000 LeAnne http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/?p=1126 [...]]]> For all your DIY gardeners out there – We have a treat for you!

This is our compost pile.  And she is

gigantic.

(technically speaking, a few hundred yards worth)

We spent a day last week sifting through it all to be sure it was completely free of trash, large sticks, debris, etc.  This is going to be some GOOD DIRT!

Currently, we are allowing her to sit for a while to fully decompose.  We estimate that this will take between 6 months to a year.

And once that process is complete, she will be yours for the taking!  We offer prices for pick-up or install, charged by the yard.

So, if you have some big projects for your own landscape next Spring, keep us in mind.  We’d love to share!

Contact us for prices.

What We’ve Been Up To. http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2010/10/08/what-weve-been-up-to/ http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/2010/10/08/what-weve-been-up-to/#comments Fri, 08 Oct 2010 13:59:01 +0000 LeAnne http://landscapegreenville.com/blog/?p=1100 [...]]]> I haven’t been in the office much lately.  Well, less than usual.  I’ve been out helping the guys, which I enjoy so much, especially with this great fall weather!  Autumn mornings are the best, aren’t they?  It’s been in the 40’s this week!

So, needless to stay, due to my change of schedule, I haven’t blogged.  In.A.Long.Time.  Sorry guys!   Things are going great though.   Here are a few photos of what’s been going on (not many, as I haven’t had my camera with me….)

Installing a boulder accent wall.

New plant material and dark brown mulch along a new retaining wall.

River Rock to fix drainage problems.

New Gardenias.

River Rock and Dark Brown Mulch.

We’ve also been busy installing new irrigation systems, fixing irrigation systems (we recently discovered how much mice enjoy lunching on irrigation wire!!), aerating and over-seeding our cool-season turf properties and landscaping new residential homes.

BTW, what are your favorite fall container plants?  In the past, I haven’t been a huge fan of potted mums, but I think they’re growing on me.   I keep eying them at Lowe’s.  They would look so pretty sitting beside some pumpkins on top of a bale of hay!

Happy Friday.
